El European Center of Austrian Economics Foundation (ECAEF) organiza el 2do concurso internacional de ensayos “Vernon Smith”.

“This process of Creative Destruction is the essential fact about capitalism.
It is what capitalism consists in and what every capitalist concern has got to live in.”
(Joseph A. Schumpeter, “Capitalism, Socialism, and Democracy”)
Schumpeter’s famous phrase is meant to reflect not only the current state of economic affairs, but also to suggest ways and means to tackle a serious challenge to open markets, individual freedom, self-responsibility, and limited government. We invite papers on this topic from individuals of up to 30 years who meet the ECAEF requirements. Entries must be accompanied by an updated and current CV and may not exceed 12 pages, 1.5 space, including a comprehensive bibliography. The deadline for all entries is October 4, 2009. Prizes are not transferable and will be awarded on the basis of originality, grasp of subject, and the logical consistence of the argument. Essays will be judged by an international jury and the winners will be invited to present their papers at a special event in Vaduz, the Principality of Liechtenstein in February/March 2010.

Deadline for submission October 4, 2009. Prizes are not transferable and will be awarded on the basis of originality, grasp of subject, and the logical consistence of the argument. Essays will be judged by an international jury. The ‘International Vernon Smith Prize’ winners will be invited to present their entries at a special ECAEF event in Vaduz (FL). Exact date will be announced.

Sorprende un poco los miembros del jurado. De España Pedro Schwartz (más que austriaco sería seguidor de Chicago) y uno de EEUU Vernon Smith, que tampoco es austriaco sino ‘experimentalista’ aunque sí comparte cosas.
Parece una fundación de escuela austriaca heterodoxa dentro de la propia escuela.
